The adventurous 2021 Jeep Compass, found here at Maguire Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT, offers an ideal blend of capable performance, interior amenities, and adventurous attitude. So, Ithaca, Binghamton, and Cortland, NY, drivers just have to decide which trim level of this SUV will best suit their needs.

In this review of the 2021 Jeep Compass trim levels, we're taking a closer look at important items, like engine power and interior amenities. So, take a look at your options and find a Jeep Compass trim level you love.

2021 Compass Standard Performance Features

The engine of the Jeep Compass is the same across all trim levels: a 2.4-liter Tigershark® 4-cylinder MultiAir® capable of achieving:

●      180 horsepower

●      175 lb-ft of torque

●      2,000-pound towing capacity when properly equipped

With that much power, plus the standard Trailer Sway Damping system, towing your small trailer will be a breeze.

The engine also comes with Engine Stop/Start Technology, which shuts down the engine when you're idling or at a stop. Press the accelerator and the engine will seamlessly restart. This is part of how the Compass was able to earn its astounding fuel economy rating. It offers an EPA-estimated 22 city and 31 highway MPG.

Most Compass models also come standard with front-wheel drive (FWD) and a powerful and smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission. However, if you want more traction and strength on your side, they are also available with 4-wheel drive (4x4) capabilities, which comes standard on the Trailhawk trim. Models with 4-wheel drive also come standard with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which optimizes engine output.

Interior Dimensions of the Compass Trim Levels

Across all trim levels, the Compass has room for five passengers with a total passenger volume of 100 cubic feet. With all that space, everyone will have the headroom and legroom they need to get comfortable and relax inside the Jeep Compass:

Front Row

Rear Row

 Headroom

39.2 in.

38.5 in.

 Legroom

41.8 in.

38.3 in.

Even your tallest friends can fit comfortably in the back row of the Compass. If you're thinking about taking your SUV out on a road trip, it still has the cargo capacity for all your gear! Despite the massive amount of passenger space, you'll have 27.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear row. You can also fold the rear row flat to access the maximum of 59.8 cubic feet of cargo space.

Jeep Compass Sport

At the base trim level, the Compass Sport sets the bar high with its exterior style and interior comfort. If you want an eye-catching ride, you can opt for the available Sport Appearance Plus package, which includes:

●      16-inch Tech Silver  aluminum wheels

●      Black side roof rails

●      Deep-tinted sunscreen glass

Inside the cabin, the 60/40 split-folding rear seats can be configured to your liking, whether you're carrying a lot of cargo or packing in passengers. The highly capable Uconnect® 4 with a 7-inch touchscreen comes standard. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto integration make it easy to link up a compatible smartphone to the touchscreen for easy access to music and text messages.

Additionally, you and your front passenger can set your own ideal temperatures with the standard Dual-Zone Automatic Temperature Control feature. You'll never have to compromise on your comfort again.

Jeep Compass Latitude

On the Latitude trim, you'll find many features similar to those in the Sport trim. The Latitude is both stylish and convenient with standard 17-inch Tech Silver aluminum wheels and Remote Proximity Keyless Entry.

It comes standard with black side roof rails to give you the ability to store larger cargo items on the roof. So, if you don't have room for your skis along with all your luggage in the back, you'll have somewhere else to store them.

Also, the Alpine® Premium Audio System with nine speakers is available to give you a fuller audio experience. Each of your passengers will feel like they've got the best seat in the house while you jam out to your favorite music.

Jeep Compass Limited

The Limited is the second-highest trim level available, which means it's practically bursting with amazing standard features.

When the winter weather hits, you'll love having the standard heated front seats, a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and windshield wiper de-icer. This certainly comes in handy to help you stay toasty on those cold days.

The Limited trim even includes a number of standard safety features. You'll feel extra confident while on the road thanks to features, such as:

●      Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection

●      Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking

●      LaneSense® Lane-Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist

●      ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System

●      Automatic High-Beam Control Headlamps

Also, the standard Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go takes driver-assistance technology to a whole new level. Where traditional cruise control just keeps your vehicle at a set speed, this system can adjust your speed as needed to maintain a set following distance even in stop-and-go traffic.

Jeep Compass Trailhawk

The Trailhawk trim is perfect for those who love adventure in their lives, even off-roading adventure. This is the only trim level of the Compass to come standard with 4-wheel drive and a 9-speed automatic transmission. Together, they help deliver that outstanding on-road performance and off-road traction.

As you head off on your adventure, you'll likely find yourself crossing all kinds of new terrain. That is why the Trailhawk comes standard with the Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System. This system features a dial that allows you to choose from drive modes, including:

●      Auto

●      Snow

●      Sand

●      Mud

Plus, there is even an available Rock mode, so nothing can slow your adventure down! With standard Hill Decent Control, driving off-road will feel as easy as driving on a smooth highway.

Jeep Compass Limited Edition Trims

There are also two Limited Edition trims available for the 2021 Jeep Compass: Altitude and the 80th Anniversary Edition.

The Altitude trim has a lot of the same features as the Latitude. However, this trim offers a number of exterior updates that add a stylish flair. For example, the Altitude trim has 18-inch gloss black aluminum wheels and gloss black exterior accents that are sure to catch the eye.

The 80th Anniversary Edition comes standard with similar stylish updates, such as the Limited Edition 80th Anniversary leather-trimmed seats. It also comes standard with Uconnect® 4C NAV with an 8.4-inch touchscreen.
